Well, seems like a few people, the lonewolfs of the bunch are crying now because they cant solo a tank anymore which shouldn't be the case. that should only happen in either exceptional circumstance, or if the pilot is drunk off his a#%. I can agree to a degree in that AV work has become near futile, but that's why we were supposed to communicate with our team members and or squadmates to begin with. Even before the update, With a CBR-7 Swarm and 2 damage mods. I would only be able to chase tanks away if the pilot new what they were doing.
To fully take down the same Heavy Attack Vehicle, would have still required co-ordination.
Now with the update we are almost forced to co-ordinate and actually play this game on a tactical standpoint and yet you still moan and despair.
Makes me wonder if you ever had my back to begin with, in a game where KDR really doesn't matter.
I have more fun and more success working together with my squad than trying to do things on my own, skill may have something to do with it yes as far as SP goes, but even then, I would rather run as an effective killing team than a Rambo style merc. If you cant support that then at least support the logic of having 5 more people who know that each of you ((including yourself)) will look out for eachother to the best of their/your ability and know they will get the same in return.
Now that I got that off of my armored plates...
I do like the balance, even as an AV'er myself. We shouldn't be able to solo a vehicle at all except for LAV's, which as of what I was a part of last night, is still viable. I do like the fact that Tanks are now quite the dominant force, yeah it sucks for me and the rest of us AV goons, but let the tank be a tank instead of just a grey colored tortilla shell.
The speed is a bit ridiculous for sure though. You have to admit that as soon as the cooldown starts, they can freakin boogey out of there like no ones business. Im not saying lose the speed completely, just downtune it a bit to where it can still maneuver fairly well without being as slow as it used to be. If its going to choose to sit there and fire at us, let us be able to hit the durned thing at least when it turns and runs off. The smart tanker knows when he is about to get shafted and will pull out before his hardeners start to run out.
As far as AV performance, it does suit the balance yes, but I feel like they were nerfed further than they needed to be. Swarms used to do 330 a missle, now its 220 and that is quite a huge difference. All im advocating for is at least a 250 per shot. That would still be quite low enough to where no single person can swarm a tank to death. but with the range set to 175 as it is now, this should be more than fair in my opinion, especially with the Increase to vehicle durability overall.
Where forge guns are concerned I cant say, I don't use them except for a militia fit to begin with and I would much rather have a faster fire rate with a medium suit to boot, too fat and slow for my taste. No offense to heavies, you do put in good work.
No difference in Plasma Cannons so no comments needed.
AV grenades are where they should be, even as a AV grenade user.
Final Summary: AV performance almost nearly matches the vehicle buffs now to where they shouldn't be taken out by a single "Rambo". Tanks are well protected and can do their job, though way too efficiently where the speed is concerned, and with the big increase to vehicle durability, make a tiny increase to some nerfed AV weapon's damage output, not at the same rate as before though, just enough to where if CCP doesn't fix the speed, then give AV'ers a better chance at destroying Vehicles without robbing the vehicle user outright of his usefulness. |
